Birmingham
For six years I have run a street-food cart in Birmingham. In April, a fire in the building took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $2,700 goes: • Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $1,350 • Initial stock: ingredients: $820 • Shop repairs and licensing: $185 • Working capital for the first month: $345 With deep gratitude, Rylee

  • Thanks for sharing this, Rylee. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 24 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.

    • Hang in there. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best

      • Best of luck, Rylee. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Strasbourg.
