Back to business - Runa's comeback in Chennai
Runa has run a laundry service for twelve years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $450 will put it back on its feet.

For twelve years I have run a laundry service in Chennai. In August, a long illness and repossession took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $200
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $110
• Shop repairs and licensing: $35
• Working capital for the first month: $105
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Stay strong, Runa. Hope you make a strong comeback. My neighbor in Edinburgh donated after I showed her your page.
