Raúl has run a laundry service for twelve years; a break-in destroyed the equipment, and $850 will put it back on its feet.

Guadalajara

For twelve years I have run a laundry service in Guadalajara. In July, a break-in took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $850 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $170 • Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $110 • Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $570 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Raúl

Good news. Because of your gifts ($573 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Thank you all. We're at 33% now ($283). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Small update. $205 so far, the plan for initial stock: detergent and packaging is now scheduled.
