Dodoma
For fifteen years I have run a small grocery stall in Dodoma. In June, a long illness and repossession took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $450 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $55 • Replacing a cold-storage unit: $280 • Working capital for the first month: $115 Thanks for reading all this. - Rashidi

Hope it all works out, Rashidi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in São Paulo this morning. Thinking of Dodoma.

          • Shop repairs and licensing is $55 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Let me know if you want more detail.

                  • Take care, Rashidi. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

                        • Hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 30 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
