Back to business - Mazen's comeback in Oakland
A fish stall in Oakland needs help replacing a freezer and scales after a long illness and repossession.

For fifteen years I have run a fish stall in Oakland. In April, a long illness and repossession took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $1,900
• Initial stock: the first catch: $310
• Shop repairs and licensing: $770
• Working capital for the first month: $470
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Wishing you the best, Mazen. Shared it with a few friends. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
take care. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update
Thinking of you, Mazen. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
