Ho
For fifteen years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Ho. In June, the demolition of the market took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $600 goes: • Replacing a commercial oven: $430 • Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $100 • Shop repairs and licensing: $50 • Working capital for the first month: $20 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Mabel

  1. Thank you all. We're at 33% now ($200). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.

  2. Small update. $80 so far, I made the first payment toward replacing a commercial oven.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($45 in total) the plan for replacing a commercial oven is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
