Back to business - Lawrence's comeback in Cardiff
A sewing studio in Cardiff needs help replacing a cutting table and overlocker after a break-in.
Anywhere in the world1,980 views
For fifteen years I have run a sewing studio in Cardiff. In August, a break-in took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Initial stock: fabric: $610
• Working capital for the first month: $580
• Shop repairs and licensing: $210
Glad we found this place.

Small businesses are the heart of Cardiff. Hope you're open again soon. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Pune.
Hang in there, Lawrence. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Cardiff.
Keep going. Shared it with a few friends. After 21 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Mumbai.
Praying for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
