Back to business - Hendra's comeback in Jakarta
Hendra has run a sewing studio for six years; a storm that collapsed the roof destroyed the equipment, and $550 will put it back on its feet.

For six years I have run a sewing studio in Jakarta. In August, a storm that collapsed the roof took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $550 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $280
• Initial stock: fabric: $110
• Shop repairs and licensing: $75
• Working capital for the first month: $85
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

wishing you peace, Hendra. Small businesses are the heart of Jakarta. Hope you're open again soon. Love from Philadelphia.
you're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from London.
Thinking of you. Hope this works out for you. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Jakarta.
Thinking of you. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Sent it to 18 people at work. All the best.
