For twelve years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Istanbul. In August, a storm that collapsed the roof took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $550 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $175
• Shop repairs and licensing: $150
• Initial stock: spare parts: $225
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Fatma
You're not alone, Fatma. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Dehiwala so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Buffalo

Sending good thoughts, Fatma. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Best of luck. Hope the shop reopens soon
