Back to business - Dian's comeback in Malang
A sewing studio in Malang needs help replacing a cutting table and overlocker after a storm that collapsed the roof.
🇮🇩 Malang, East Java, Indonesia948 views
For four years I have run a sewing studio in Malang. In July, a storm that collapsed the roof took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $350 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $240
• Initial stock: fabric: $70
• Working capital for the first month: $40
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Updates from Dian
Update from Malang: I made the first payment toward initial stock: fabric. We're at 19% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Small update. $52 so far, I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($27 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
