Toronto
For three years I have run a fish stall in Toronto. In August, floodwater took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $2,250 goes: • Replacing a freezer and scales: $1,100 • Initial stock: the first catch: $310 • Shop repairs and licensing: $310 • Working capital for the first month: $530 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Cynthia

  1. Quick update: $394 raised so far (18%). the first invoice got paid this week. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Quick update: $189 raised so far (8%). I made the first payment toward working capital for the first month. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
