Gujranwala
For fifteen years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Gujranwala. In January, a storm that collapsed the roof took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $550 goes: • Replacing a commercial oven: $360 • Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $65 • Shop repairs and licensing: $35 • Working capital for the first month: $90 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Bushra

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($146 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Wanted to say thank you properly. 26% funded and the plan for working capital for the first month is now scheduled. - Bushra

Replacing a commercial oven is $360 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Fair thing to want to know.
