Back to business - Brooks's comeback in San Antonio

Brooks lost clippers, chairs and mirrors to a storm that collapsed the roof and needs $1,050 to reopen a barbershop and support the family.

🇺🇸 United States1,433 views
For four years I have run a barbershop in San Antonio. In April, a storm that collapsed the roof took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $1,050 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $280 • Working capital for the first month: $330 • Initial stock: supplies: $440 With deep gratitude, Brooks

Updates from Brooks

  1. Quick update: $643 raised so far (61%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($110 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
