Back on our feet: Ruth and two young children in Eldoret
Ruth and two young children need a bridge to stability after a divorce.
🇰🇪 Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, Kenya1,323 views
Since a divorce in January, I'm now raising two young children on my own. I work as a care worker, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a dental nurse in the evenings, which will triple my income by May, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rent top-up: $390
• Course fees and exam costs: $75
• Groceries and school meals: $135
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Stay strong. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Sent it to 30 people at work.

I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
