Babatunde needs my school-run minibus repaired to get back to work in Zaria

Without my school-run minibus Babatunde can't work; a $200 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my school-run minibus. 4 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $200 goes: • rear axle replacement (parts): $80 • Labor charges: $50 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $45 • Towing and inspection: $25 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Updates from Babatunde

  1. Quick update: $39 raised so far (20%). the first invoice got paid this week. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. We're at 14% thanks to 4 of you. I made the first payment toward rear axle replacement. More news soon.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($14 in total) the plan for labor charges is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
