After a house fire in August, I'm now raising two young children on my own. I work as a school kitchen assistant, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a dental nurse in the evenings, which will triple my income by December, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Money goes toward rent, groceries, after-school care and the cost of my course. I'll give a monthly update with receipts.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Course fees and exam costs: $470
• Childcare and after-school care: $1,500
• Rent top-up: $1,730
If you're reading this, thank you.

Good luck, Axel. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Edmonton.
Good luck, Axel. I hope things turn around soon.
hang in there. Shared this with my family. After 15 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything
So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Edmonton.
Keep going, Axel. Looking forward to the next update. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best.
Wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Moscow.
Wishing you the best, Axel. Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Dwarka
