Axel has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Axel can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Axel's family will cook lunch for the team. Thanks for being kind about this.

    • Wishing Axel a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Put this on a community board in Regensburg this morning. All the best.

      • This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Manchester but we're thinking of you. All the best

        • Wishing you peace. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Aurora.

          • sending strength. Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
