Awka erosion collapse relief - the Marketplace settlement

Neighbors in the Marketplace settlement are rebuilding after the erosion collapse; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

Awka
The erosion collapse hit the Marketplace settlement on 26 August. My home was one of 44 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $950 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $370 • Clean water and purification supplies: $110 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $90 • Food parcels for displaced families: $130 • Tools and labor for repairs: $250 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Roofing sheets and timber is $370 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.
