Auma's cervical cancer treatment fund
Auma is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇺🇬 Uganda1,623 views
Auma was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May. The oncology team at Mukono University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Auma is 30, worked as a construction supervisor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mukono University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Transport to Mukono University Hospital: $80
• Household costs while unable to work: $120
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $790
• Scans and lab work: $160
