Asylum application: Ronaldo needs $850 before the deadline
Ronaldo needs $850 for filing fees and representation in an asylum application before the November deadline.

I'm facing an asylum application. My hearing is scheduled for November, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $850. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at the Rio de Janeiro Community Legal Centre has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
The money goes to the immigration attorney's trust account and the court filing office. I'll upload receipts with sensitive details removed.
Where the $850 goes:
• Filing and biometrics fees: $210
• Attorney retainer: $600
• Certified translations and document copies: $40
I hope life is good to you.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ronaldo!
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. filing and biometrics fees is the biggest at $210. Let me know if you want more detail.
Praying for you. This could happen to any of us. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
You're not alone, Ronaldo. Hope this works out for you. After 19 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from London.
Hang in there, Ronaldo. I hope things turn around soon
Sending good thoughts, Ronaldo. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
