Asher needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $5,150.

Asher lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Hamilton Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,150.
His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Asher could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $5,150 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $4,400
• Fitting and training sessions: $370
• Delivery and set-up: $150
• First-year servicing plan: $230
