Arif was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Rajshahi Orthopedic Institute recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $670, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $500 short.
my father has been in and out of Rajshahi Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $670 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Arif struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Arif won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
