Aparecida's thyroid cancer treatment fund
12 rounds of treatment are planned at the Olinda Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Aparecida was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in June. The oncology team at the Olinda Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Aparecida is 40, worked as a hairdresser until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Olinda Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,050
• Scans and lab work: $430
• Transport to the Olinda Oncology Institute: $190
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $155
• Household costs while unable to work: $275
