I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at São Paulo General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,250. My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $1,250 goes: • powered wheelchair: $1,050 • Fitting and training sessions: $50 • Delivery and set-up: $40 • First-year servicing plan: $110 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Aparecida
