Anyango lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at the Nairobi Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $850. Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment Anyango could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $850 goes: • powered wheelchair: $710 • Fitting and training sessions: $40 • Delivery and set-up: $30 • First-year servicing plan: $70 Glad we found this place. - Kariuki

Updates from Kariuki

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 10% funded and I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Update from Nairobi: we've started the first stage. We're at 7% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. 1% there. I made the first payment toward first-year servicing plan. Thank you.

Thinking of you. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking

    • Is there anything that isn't money that would help Anyango?

Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about powered wheelchair, advice is welcome too. Appreciate you taking the time.

    • Best of luck, Kariuki. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

      • Best of luck. Hope this works out for you. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Bordeaux
