Anna's multiple myeloma treatment fund
Anna is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇮🇹 Latina, Lazio, Italy1,433 views
Anna was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at Latina Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Anna is 45, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Latina Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,600 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,500
• Scans and lab work: $770
• Transport to Latina Cancer Centre: $470
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $650
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,210
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
- Roberto

So sorry you're going through this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Parramatta!
