Ananya is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Siliguri Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $950.
The registrar has said Ananya can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ananya has a first-class average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ananya would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Ananya isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Siliguri Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
