Anaïs was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Saint Francis Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,450 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Saint Francis Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Anaïs struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Anaïs won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
