Kiptoo lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Arusha Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $50. His current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment Kiptoo could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $50 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $10 • First-year servicing plan: $20 • Fitting and training sessions: $20 Thank you so much. - Bakari

Updates from Bakari

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($33 in total) I made the first payment toward delivery and set-up. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Wish I lived closer to Bogra so I could bring a meal.
