An adapted tricycle for Imani: help Imani move freely
Imani needs an adapted tricycle that the health system won't fund; the cost is $1,000.
🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda1,049 views
Imani lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at Kampala General Hospital has assessed her and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000.
Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Imani could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $35
• adapted tricycle: $935
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Kampala.
