Amber was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in April. The oncology team at Auckland Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Amber is 45, worked as a bakery worker until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Auckland Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $10,150 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,500 • Scans and lab work: $590 • Transport to Auckland Cancer Centre: $490 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $410 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,160 Thanks for reading all this. - Axel
