Alyona's thyroid cancer treatment fund
Alyona is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Alyona was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at Kyiv Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Alyona is 28, worked as a nurse until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kyiv Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $390
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,300
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110
