Ali was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in January. The oncology team at Mecca Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in April. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Ali is 26, worked as a bank teller until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mecca Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $6,500 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,800 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $240 • Transport to Mecca Cancer Centre: $340 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,120 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
