Alexander was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in February. The surgeon at Liverpool Orthopedic Institute recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $5,300 short.
my son has been in and out of Liverpool Orthopedic Institute since February. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Alexander struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Alexander won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
