Aleena's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled cataract surgery in November is out of reach without help covering $450 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections. My surgeon at Islamabad Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $750, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $450 short.
Doctors at Islamabad Orthopedic Institute told me gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a seamstress, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $750 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a seamstress have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. I'll not be able to lift anything heavy during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $450 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $20
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65
• Physiotherapy sessions: $40
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $250
• Post-operative medication: $75

wishing you the best. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Jimma so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Islamabad.
Praying for you, Aleena. Get well soon. Blessings.
Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Bonny!
