Akari's gallbladder removal can't wait - please help us cover the bill
Akari needs gallbladder removal at Tokyo Orthopedic Institute and the family is $4,950 short of the hospital's estimate.

In March I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. My surgeon at Tokyo Orthopedic Institute recommended gallbladder removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $10,000, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $4,950 short.
Doctors at Tokyo Orthopedic Institute told me a benign brain tumor will get worse without gallbladder removal. I work as a security guard, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $10,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a security guard have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to climb stairs during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
