Ahmed needs a powered wheelchair - help us make it happen
Help Ahmed get a powered wheelchair so He can join the school sports day.
🇦🇺 Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia371 views
I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at the Wollongong Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $9,300.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $9,300 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $8,500
• Fitting and training sessions: $350
• Delivery and set-up: $115
• First-year servicing plan: $335
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. powered wheelchair comes first ($8,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Ask me anything else.

Wishing you peace, Ahmed. Hope this works out for you. God bless.
Sending strength, Ahmed. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Wish I lived closer to Bologna so I could bring a meal. Love from London.
