Adjoa was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Kumasi Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,300, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,150 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Kumasi Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Adjoa struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Adjoa won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
