Adhiambo was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in December. The oncology team at Gulu Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Adhiambo is 24, worked as a bank teller until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Gulu Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,500 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,100 • Household costs while unable to work: $130 • Scans and lab work: $200 • Transport to Gulu Regional Medical Center: $70 If you're reading this, thank you.

Updates from Peter

  1. Update from Gulu: I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts. We're at 61% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. We're at 51% thanks to 16 of you. the first invoice got paid this week. More news soon.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 20% now ($304). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for transport to Gulu Regional Medical Center is now scheduled.
