Adewale served twelve years; now needs help to get home
A medical corps veteran in Benin City needs help with a first month of rent and transport to job interviews after leaving service with hearing damage and PTSD.

I served twelve years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2024 with hearing damage and PTSD. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $500.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $500 goes:
• Training provider fees: $360
• Essential household items: $45
• Transport to appointments: $95
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Benin City.
thanks for sharing this, Adewale. This could happen to any of us.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Take care
stay strong, Adewale. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
