Addison was diagnosed with colon cancer in May. The oncology team at Los Angeles University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Addison is 49, worked as a taxi driver until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Los Angeles University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $11,150 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $1,250
• Transport to Los Angeles University Hospital: $500
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,150
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,250
