Adalynn was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in March. The surgeon at London General Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $13,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $6,450 short. my mother has been in and out of London General Hospital since March. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $13,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Adalynn struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Adalynn won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $6,450 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,500 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,350 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $550 • Post-operative medication: $320 • Physiotherapy sessions: $480 • Travel and lodging for the family: $250 Thanks for reading all this.
