ACL reconstruction for Yoav: covering what insurance won't
After endometriosis requiring surgery, Yoav was cleared for ACL reconstruction, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Yoav was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in July. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,500, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,700 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since July. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Yoav struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Yoav won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
