Rebecca was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in August. The surgeon at Saint Catherine Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $8,600 short. my daughter has been in and out of Saint Catherine Hospital since August. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Rebecca struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Rebecca won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
