ACL reconstruction for Lan: covering what insurance won't

In August I was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes. My surgeon at Hồ Chí Minh City Regional Medical Center recommended ACL reconstruction, and I have been placed on the schedule for October. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $790, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $550 short.
