Jonathan was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in August. The surgeon at Oakland Regional Medical Center recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $7,550 short. my husband has been in and out of Oakland Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Jonathan struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Jonathan won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
