ACL reconstruction for Efe: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled ACL reconstruction in September is out of reach without help covering $250 of the cost.

Efe was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in July. The surgeon at Saint Francis Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $250 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Francis Hospital since July. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Efe struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Efe won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $250 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $110
• Post-operative medication: $35
• Travel and lodging for the family: $40
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
