ACL reconstruction for Divya: covering what insurance won't
After a cleft palate needing repair, Divya was cleared for ACL reconstruction, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Divya was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in August. The surgeon at San Diego Regional Medical Center recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,150, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $3,300 short.
my wife has been in and out of San Diego Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Divya struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Divya won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
