ACL reconstruction for Alexa: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled ACL reconstruction in November is out of reach without help covering $5,850 of the cost.

Alexa was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in August. The surgeon at Eugene General Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $5,850 short.
my mother has been in and out of Eugene General Hospital since August. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Alexa struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Alexa won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.

• Travel and lodging for the family: $220
• Post-operative medication: $270
