I served eight years in the marines and was discharged in 2023 with a back injury. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $650.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $650 goes:
• Essential household items: $50
• Housing deposit and first month: $155
• Training provider fees: $445
Thanks for reading all this.

Good luck, Aarav. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
Wishing you the best, Aarav. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Sending good thoughts, Aarav. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 35 people at work. Take care.
